Otl Aicher Book
For this project I was asked to design an 84 page book based on Otl Aicher. As well as the design of the book I also had to create a wrap around poster, to go alongside the 84 page book.
Otl Aicher was born on the 13th May 1922 in Ulm, Germany. He was a german graphic designer, typographer and teacher. Probably best known for designing the 1972 Munich Olympics identity, that proved influential on the use of stick figures for public signage. As well as designing the 1972 Munich Olympics identity he is also well known for other works such as creating the typeface Rotis.
I very much enjoyed this project as it was my first time at designing a book. I felt that I have used a consistent layout throughout each spread within the book, and seeing the printed final outcome was extremelly rewarding.
